Cremation is a common choice for many families and allows flexibility in how the funeral service is arranged. Thompson Funeral Directors provide full cremation services for families in Athy and the surrounding areas, offering clear guidance and practical support at every stage of the arrangements.

A cremation service may be held in a church, funeral home or other suitable venue, followed by a committal service at the crematorium. We will help families understand the options available and coordinate all arrangements, including transport, timings and liaison with the crematorium.

For families who do not wish to have a religious ceremony, or who would prefer not to travel to the crematorium, our Committal Chapel is available for civil or non-religious services, including Celebration of Life ceremonies. Holding the service in the funeral home can reduce the need for additional travel and help simplify the day for families and mourners. Live web streaming can also be arranged for those who are unable to attend in person.
